Design Notes

We designed Marley because our founder wanted a bag that felt easy and relaxed, but still polished. She loves slouchy bags, but when they lack structure, they can quickly feel shapeless. Marley was our answer to that balance.

It’s designed to feel soft and laid back where it matters, with just enough structure to hold its shape and feel intentional. Durable enough to be thrown around and still look great, Marley is meant to multitask through real life, whether it’s a weekend out or a day that includes kid snacks, a water bottle, and everything in between.

Marley is designed to be worn on the shoulder or crossbody, with an adjustable strap that lets you customize the fit to your body and your layers. Wear it shorter to sit close to the body, or extend it for a true crossbody fit that works comfortably across seasons and outfits. It’s meant to feel easy, intuitive, and natural to wear.

Our bags are made with cowhide leather, which we treat with a custom polymer coating that enhances the color and provides a protective layer for durability. In addition to added durability, our coating provides a beautiful sheen so your bag can look newer for longer. Here are a few tips for caring for your AALLYN bag:

  • Keep bags out of direct heat or sunlight for prolonged periods. These elements will prematurely cause leather to dry out, crack or fade. 
  • Avoid water, but if your bag gets wet, pat it dry with paper towels and let it air dry. Do not apply heat.
  • Avoid contact with cosmetics, perfume, or anything that may transfer color.
  • To remove water or dirt from leather, wipe dry with a soft and clean cloth.
  • Moisturize the bag body with a leather conditioner lotion every few months or as necessary.
